We have spread our wings

We left the comforts of our feathered nests in southwest Manitoba early Friday morning, heading to Winnipeg for our Saturday 7:50 am Air Canada flight to Toronto.  Amid snow and blowing snow, Norman, Linda and Blair delivered us to our hotel before they headed back to Virden.  We are so thankful for their help on this initial transport.  From here on, we are on our own in this big old world.
This morning started at 5:30 am.  We both set off the alarms in security....winter boots!  Oh, and alkaline batteries in the carry-on also creates a bag search.  Once through security, we ran into the Vanbeselaeres, Vandendorpes and Davies' as they were waiting to board their plane to Jamaica.  It was a brief visit before it was time to board.
Our wings took flight shortly after 8:00 am. It was smooth sailing to Toronto.  Now to deplane, find our luggage and connect with our airport shuttle.  All you have to do is ask!  Carousel found and a sigh of relief to see our bags appear...with a few more scuffs.  Next, onto exit S 5 for shuttle pick-up to the Carlingview.  So many shuttles to other hotels and then finally ours appeared.
Once checked in, we headed to Mr Greeks for lunch....yum!
Now what should we do????  the front desk called us a cab and we were off to Woodbine to shop. Our cab driver offered to come back for us later so we took him up on his offer! We spent a couple of hours browsing and people watching.  Mom commented that she thought we were in a different world!  Lots of differences with fashion, jewelry and ethnicity. When we returned to our exit, there was our cab!  10 minutes and he had us delivered "home".
A light supper at Mr Greeks and we are settled in our room for the night.  There is a winter storm warning for GTA tomorrow.  Fingers crossed that our 23:45 flight to Buenos Aires isn't affected.
On a side note, we have not seen anything of our city relatives here......The Toronto Blue Jays :-/
